What happens at my appointment?
If you choose nitrous oxide (commonly called laughing gas), you'll breathe the soothing gas through a nasal mask during your treatments. Nitrous oxide alleviates anxiety and eliminates potential discomfort. The effects diminish rapidly once the mask is removed, so you can resume normal activities immediately.

With conscious sedation, Dr. Oser will give you a sedative to take prior to your appointment. You'll begin to feel drowsy almost immediately, so please have a friend or family member take you to and from your appointment. After you enter a state of complete mental and physical relaxation, Dr. Oser will perform your dental work and may complete many procedures in single visit. You'll be able to converse with our team during your treatments, and we'll monitor your vital signs to ensure your safety. Conscious sedation wears off gradually and leaves patients with no memory of treatment details. Most patients get back to their routines the evening following their sedation dentistry appointment.
